Ludwing Paniagua
Hailing from La Antigua Guatemala, Ludwing Paniagua (b. 1976) seamlessly blends classical art with new technologies. With a foundation in architecture and a deep passion for painting, he has extended his talent to the big screen, contributing as a matte painter for films such as The Chronicles of Riddick and The Chronicles of Narnia.
In his exhibition Perfiles de Santiago, Paniagua used virtual reconstructions to revive the memory of his city’s lost monuments. Today, his portrait series of Nazarenes, displayed at the Museo de la Semana Santa, honors the faith and traditions that continue to inspire his work.

Through detailed observation and traditional techniques, I aim to capture not only the physical presence of these devotional figures but also their profound spiritual and emotional resonance.
In parallel, I have developed a practice in digital art, where I create historical virtual reconstructions and popular illustrations. This blend of mediums allows me to delve into the interplay between collective memory, cultural identity, and the contemporary reinterpretation of visual traditions.
My goal is to create works that bridge the past and the present, inviting viewers to engage in a thoughtful and personal reflection.
